Misdemeanors

What it means.

Misdemeanors are crimes that are generally considered less serious that felonies. These crimes are often capped at one year in jail and smaller fines. Some examples are first time DUIs, simple battery, petty theft and other small crimes. Even though these crimes have lesser penalties than felonies, they are nothing to ignore. Large jail times and fines are possible and you need an experienced attorney to help you with your case.

How we can help.

Here at the John Roberts Law Firm, I will work diligently to defend you in these cases. Sometimes, you may not have committed the crime and need an aggressive attorney to represent you in court. Other times, you may need an attorney that can negotiate with the prosecutor to get you the minimum penalty available. Do not let the public defender handle your misdemeanor case. Often, they have far too many cases to give your case the proper time and attention to make sure that your case is handled properly. I will work with you and the prosecutor to make sure your case is properly taken care of.
